The Perfect Dullstroom Winter Weekend Itinerary

Dullstroom is such a magical place to be. Nestled in the Mpumalanga province, this small little town holds so many treasures. It`s the perfect romantic weekend or family getaway.

Saturday Morning: Seattle Coffee

I have searched high and low and there is literally no place selling more delicious hot liquid than the Seattle coffee company. Dullstroom winter weather ranges from chilly to super-friking-cold. You will definitely need something to warm you up and this is the place to get.

Spend the day strolling through the street. Pop into a couple of shops. Definitely have a chocolate shot at “chocolate”. Be warned: it is highly addictive.

Lunch: Mayfly

This restaurant (as everything else actually) is situated on the main street of Dullstroom. It is a restaurant/cocktail lounge. It’s nice and cosy inside with a comfortable yet lively vibe. The food is amazing. Definitely try the beef trinchada.  It`s awesome.

Dullstroom is also quite popular for its fly fishing. There are multiple farms all around. The Village Angler is a fishing shop also in the main road. They have all the equipment you could possibly need as well as friendly assistance. They charge a daily fee to go fishing in any of the three dams they have that are right outside of town. These are beautiful dams with an abundance of fish.

Dinner: The Old Transvaal Inn

This Inn has been here since forever. It’s the oldest and most iconic restaurant in Dullstroom therefor you have to visit it. With a homey vibe and a fire burning you won’t help but feel right at home in this piece of history. They also have a sweets bar from your children’s dreams so they will thank you as well.

Visit Dullstroom for your winter wonderland dreams come true!
