Game viewing throughout the entire South Africa is pretty amazing. The wildlife that can be seen in its natural habitat is spectacular, but nowhere is it quite as spectacular as in the Kruger National Park. The absolute most amazing sightings can be seen right in South Africa’s largest National Park, the mighty Kruger. The sheer size of this park means that you can experience a number of different landscapes all in one park. Different landscapes make for different habitats which make for a whole new range of species that can be spotted.
It has reached that point of the year that everybody is in dire need of a break. The stress of the year is becoming too much. Do not over stress yourself. Rather spoil yourself with a well-deserved break to build up the ever so needed energy to finish the year off. There is no better place to do this than at Trogon House.
As travellers we are often most rewarded by the sights and places that don`t always appear on the brochures. South Africa is such a diverse and intricate country you need to look beyond the typical touristy places to truly see into the heart of the country.
In Mpumalanga in South is a treasure that is well hidden. A 260-sq-km reserve centres on the 30km-long Blyde River Canyon. The magnificent river runs right past gigantic rock formations. These formations are all surrounded by the most amazing and lush forestry you have ever seen. The beautiful contrast of sky, rock and earth makes it one of the best places in South Africa to photograph.
Visiting the Kruger National Park is a definite must when visiting the beautiful South Africa. It is a park we South Africans take great pride in as all possible efforts are made to keep it natural and clean. A lot of outside investment is needed to keep the park poacher free so in going there you are also making a contribution to a great cause.
As winter in our part of South Africa comes to an end the excitement is quite high. Dreams of beautiful beaches and sunny poolside days are starting to become more of a reality. Some of us however are not so happy about the days getting hotter. Let us reminisce one final time about the pleasures of winter. Rumi Lodge in Dullstroom is one of the best self-catering places I`ve visited in Dullstroom and here is why…
Africa is obviously widely known and popular for its magnificent safari experiences. Africa is more than just safari though. It is a continent that has endured great struggle but at the same time it is a continent that has come an extremely far way. The culture is diverse, interesting and beautiful. We are not interested in fake cultural experiences where local people are made to dance and entertain tourists. The experiences we are interested in are those that give you true insight into how people live who have a completely contrasting culture compared to your own. Step into the lives of Africans…
South Africa has recently celebrated Woman’s Day and in this country it means quite a bit. It is no secret that South Africa and the African continent in general is not the safest place in the world. This is very true especially for woman who endure violence and suffering each day. This day does not only celebrate African Woman but also the struggle they go through. As safety is such a big thing, this blog is dedicated to safe places for woman to travel alone to.
As promised we will explore the stunning Islands of Cape Verde even more intensely. As you know there are nine inhabited Islands and they each have their own unique charm.
The winter definitely has it`s advantages. Red wine, bonfires and snow, to mention just a few. Most people however get to a point, round about mid-winter, where they crave the hot sun baking on their face and that lovely humidity that only the summer offers. When this point is reached you can either suffer through it, or escape to better weather! Why not escape to the beautiful and tropical African Island of Seychelles?
