There is horse-riding as well in this region. You can even have a swim in one of the canals. Learn about all the agricultural farms, the complicated irrigation system and the fact that this system is supplied by two mighty rivers, the Vaal and the Harts. Hartwater and Jan Kempdorp are the two main centres.
The West Coast is known for irrupting into sudden bloom as spring hits. All over the sand and rock splashes of colour appear to let us know that spring has arrived. The West Coast National Park is but and hours’ drive from Cape Town. Apart from experiencing the beautiful flowers and magnificent view, this park also offers a range of activities. From water sports to whale watching. Cycling to star-gazing. Here you will find something for everyone.
Come escape the rush of city life in the wide open spaces of the Takwa Karoo National Park. Ceres is the last town before you enter the park so here you should stock up on essential. Not only does the park turn into a colourful paradise in spring, the birds also come in dozens to experience the flower frenzy.
