Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

About 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania lays the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater in the Ngorongoro National Park. Thousands of tourists flock here to experience the amazing untouched wildlife and picturesque sceneries and you will soon see why.

The crater was created by a Volcano and the soil over the years became as good as gold to the plants growing there in. It is absolutely breath-taking and one of Africa’s most famous National Parks.

One of the most luxurious and beautiful lodges in Tanzania is located within this National Park. It is called & Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and it is honestly something special.  They offer a variety of options, packages and activities.

Game Drives are obviously a must when on an African Safari and the Ngorongoro delivers a quite unique game drive experience. Passengers are taken through the lush highland forest. If you are lucky and visit the lodge at the right time of the year huge flocks of pink flamingo can be spotted around the shores of the shallow Lake Magadi. Safari vehicles are closed, with glass windows and a pop-up roof. The entire big five is in the park and waiting for you to spot them!

Have lunch on the crater floor because what is more amazing than dining in an ancient volcano? The crater has formed its own ecosystem due to its enclosed nature and therefor transports you into a newer, greener, lusher universe. The lunch consist of amazing cuisine and butlers attending to your every wish, truly a fairy-tale experience with the fresh grass under your toes and the old tries as you dining guests.

This lodge truly has everything from massages to wine cellar and is truly a once in a lifetime experience, don’t miss it!
