Major City – East London

East London has one of the fastest growing tourism sectors in the country and it is not at all hard to believe! It has that amazing element that always accompanies a city by the sea. It`s the hustle, bustle and diversity of city life combined with the fresh salty air and soothing sound of the waves. Let`s take a look at all East London has to offer.

Let`s start with the most important element – The beaches!

A personal favourite beach of mine would be the Gonubie Beach. It is a stunning beach just 20 minutes’ drive from the city centre. It has a stunning wooden walkway that stretches all the way from the Parking lot to the main beach. On your way you will pass beautiful man-made tidal pools and the amazing tropical vegetation of the Eastern Cape.

Nahoon Beach is probably the most popular beach in East London. Due to the spectacular waves it delivers it is a favourite among surfers from all over the country and is also a popular host to international and national surfing events. The beach is very long thus not crowded. It is also very clean and has some lovely fishing spots. All in all it is a lovely beach for the entire family.

Accommodation-wise you cannot get better than the stunning Prana Lodge Beach Estate and Spa. This is the perfect place to break away and relax by the ocean. Away from the noise of the city, this lodge is tranquil and serene.

Prana Lodge has a wellness centre that offers just the relaxation you need to kick start your holiday. How does a full body massage with the sweet salty scent of the oceans and the sound of crashing waves in the background sound?

They have definitely not left food out of the equation.  Their restaurant serves top quality, mouth-watering meals.

Come to East London, you will not be disappointed.
