Hermanus is a beautiful coastal town in the Western Cape of South Africa. Hermanus has white sandy beaches and beautiful fynbos, a typical cape scenic town.
Hermanus has loads of activities and sights to choose from.
Popular wine tasting spot
The highest peak you will see looking over the ocean from Hermanus, it Sondagskloof, the farm which produces the exquisite Hermanuspietersfontein wines. These winemakers strongly believe the soil make the wine. According to them the cool climate brings out the acidity in the soil and that is their secret to success. Whatever it is, it`s clearly working. The farm also offers accommodation in beautiful farm cottages so guest can experience farm living, first hand. Hermanuspietersfontein also plays host to a lovely Saturday morning market called Die Markie. Local florist, wine makers and cooks all come together to showcase their amazing crops and talent. Definitely worth supporting.
Grotto Beach is a stunning massive powder white sandy beach which shows you just how stunning it is when white sand, fynbos and natural rock formations join. This is a lovely family beach and is perfect for the kids to swim(if they would dare the icey cold water) and play in the sand all day. It is also a lovely picnic spot for a nice day.
