When Uganda is mentioned a lush dark green forest with trickling water in background instantly comes to mind. This beautiful country depends on tourism to fight poverty and it is a major source of income. You will soon understand why tourists travel from all over the world to experience this country.
The main attraction towards Uganda is the fact that it is absolutely as wild as you would imagine Africa thousands of years ago. That is why I want to focus on the wild side: the stunning nature and ecosystems that thrive in Uganda, its spectacular waterfalls.
One of the things Uganda is famous for is the stunning waterfalls that can be found here. Here are just a few:
This stunning waterfall is located in the Murchison Falls National Park. It is a massive volume of water rushing through a 7 meter gorge. Experiencing a sunset over this stunning waterfall will most likely be the best way of experiencing it.
The Kisiizi Falls is located in the Kigezi Highlands in Rukungiri. You can view these majestic falls from either a Suspension Bridge or a small cave. There is also an option to zip-line over the falls which is an unforgettable experience. Be sure to also grab some Kisiizi Falls coffee as a souvenir.
These falls are not for the faint hearted. They are not as easy to reach as the other but it is well worth the adventure. There are three stages and the climbing obviously gets more advanced as you go along. The best view is definitely from the third one so if you are up for the challenge it come highly recommended.
The Sisiyi Falls is located in Mbale in Uganda. This is the perfect place to take a picnic basket and unwind. The atmosphere is calm and the falls are spectacular and can even be seen from the main road.
If your heart sings to the sound of dropping water Uganda is definitely the country for you. Come support this beautiful country with all it has to offer.
