Singita Ebony Safari Lodge is built in the shade of giant knobthorn and jackalberry trees on the banks of the Sand River. Ebony is a tribute to the vogue and muted luxury of colonial times, echoing a bygone age.
The suites are warm and classical – each has a double fireplace, private plunge pool, outside shower, en-suite bathroom with large Victorian bath and large shower. The secluded thatched suites are the epitome of elegant comfort, with rooms styled with an eclectic mix of colours, fabrics and textures. Think bold reds and orange checks. The furnishings are reminiscent of a country house, although a quick glance outside will remind you that you are in the African Bush. Four-poster beds festooned in white mosquito nets, rich red and orange fabrics, antique pictures, and overstuffed pictures. Egyptian linen, African throws, antiques and modern luxuries combine to create a homely, lived-in feel that will cast you back in time.
Singita Ebony Lodge offers a first class wildlife experience in the Sabi Sand Reserve. Big Five, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant, and numerous other smaller creatures are viewed on a regular basis. The breathtaking Sabi river runs through the reserve attracting all kinds of animal and is a paradise for bird lovers.
