Kambaku River Sands is well situated in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which makes up the western boarder of the Kruger National Park. Without fences inhibiting the free movement of game between the reserves, Timbavati becomes part of a vast unspoilt natural wilderness area that lies within the Greater Kruger National Park.
Kambaku takes its name from one of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ tuskers who roamed the Kruger Park for the greater part of the last century. These elephant were renowned for their impressive tusks – having at least one tusk with the estimated weight of over 60kg.
Sitting majestically on the banks of a dry river bed, Kambaku River Sands entices the guest to sit back and relax. This unfenced camp is perfectly situated on a perennial river with continuous free flowing movement of game both big and small through the camp.
All suites are elegantly decorated, and boast private viewing decks with spectacular views of either the dry River bed or the surrounding bush. All sliding doors are protected with mosquito netting and beds draped with classic white satin nets. Sit back and indulge in the elegance of your suite.
