The main boma of wood and thatch houses the lounge,
dining room and bar area. Mobile overnight and day trip safaris are offered into
the Game Reserve. Activities on offer include game drives, quad bike safari and an
unforgettable experience with the local Bushmen people.
The setting of Haina Kalahari Lodge is classically African, relaxed and informal. The Main Boma consists of a lounge, dining room and bar area decorated in wood and thatch. A swimming pool, sun deck, well-appointed bar and an expansive boma eating area are among the facilities available to visitors. The sundeck is a popular spot for social activities and for exchanging accounts of the various sightings of birds and animals seen during the day. The Lodge accommodates up to 20 guests in tented accommodation which are all private with their own decks. Accommodation consists of 6 standard, family and 3 luxury tents. All are en-suite and the luxury tents also have baths. All the tents are raised up on wooden platforms and are very well furnished. All the tents have deck areas with a table and chair where guests can relax or read a book during the day.
In addition to twice-daily game drives in open land cruisers, activities included a visit to a bushmen camp on the conservancy. Daylong excursions in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, including Deception Valley, were available. Guided bush walks, with a professional guide are a great way to learn about animal tracking and the Kalahari vegetation. Guests can also discover the natural beauty of the reserve via quad bike safaris. Wildlife sightings can include the sensational black-maned Kalahari lion, as well as regular sightings of cheetah! Small predators include meerkats, bat-eared fox, honey badger, black-backed jackal and several mongoose species. General herbivores species easily seen are gemsbok (oryx), springbok, red hartebeest, eland, kudu, impala and steenbok.
