A unique Mozambique getaway built partly on land and partly over the water of Inhambane Bay, Flamingo Bay’s restful guest chalets are built on stilts over the water, bestowing upon guests the unique melody of the water lapping beneath the floor.
The 20 air-conditioned water chalets and honeymoon suite of Flamingo Bay are unique along the East African coast – they are quite large and make for the perfect retreat! The chalets are simple but in a wonderfully stylish way, boasting lovely hardwood finishes and very welcome air-conditioning that will keep guests comfortable in the heat. When the tide withdraws, the water disappears from below the villas – guests can then take a stroll on the exposed sands and marvel at the thousands of tiny crabs scurrying about!
The chalets are connected to the main public areas of the lodge by somewhat lengthy wooden walkways. Once there, guests will find a gorgeous pool area where they can relax on a wooden lounger in the sun or head to the restaurant/bar area for a delicious meal or ice-cold beer or cocktail. The lodge is located in the estuary and not on the beach and therefore looks west towards the setting sun – guests are guaranteed some stunning and very romantic sunsets!
