The camp, built on an island and shaded by large ebony and fig trees, is surrounded by expansive, game-rich grasslands which are flooded each year, usually from May to early October. Explore the area on 4X4 game drives, on foot, by boat (depending on water levels) or be poled silently through the waterways on a traditional canoe.
Game viewing tends to be a dramatic experience at Duba Plains: thousands of buffalo are found in the area and are hunted almost daily by the resident lion prides. Game viewing at Duba Plains Camp is also flexible and you can choose your schedule, but it’s best to set out on a game drive at dawn for the best chance of seeing a hunt. Late afternoon into evening is another excellent game viewing time.
Duba Plains Camp accommodates a maximum of 12 guests in six large tented suites, raised to enhance the views and to catch the gentle breeze as you cast your eyes over the floodplains from your private deck. Each spacious tent includes an en suite bathroom with dressing room, 24-hour hot running water, a flush toilet, double vanities and both an inside and outside shower.
